Tamales and Traditions

Tamales originated back to the time of the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incans and were first developed during the war. As they became more popular, they became a huge part of events such as ceremonies, rituals, feasts, and even fiestas.

While there are several ways you can make your tamales your own, tamales are a dish made up of usually a corn-based dough, then steamed in a corn husk, and filled with meat.

Tamales bring people together, especially around the holidays. To some, they symbolize unity, celebration, family, and community. Typically, making them turns into a family affair and a tradition that can be held up by future generations
